Frogs and Cubs

The Frogs and Cubs classroom operates from 8:00AM – 3:00PM and provide breakfast, lunch, and a pm snack. Child care is also offered before school (7:30AM – 8:00AM) and after school (3:00PM – 5:30PM). A typical day includes circle/large group, 1 hour of free choice play and exploration, opportunities for small group interaction and instruction, and 45 minutes of outdoor/gross motor time. Daily lesson planning creates fun and interesting activities for children to engage in, experiment with, and learn from.

We have a holistic approach to development, with an emphasis on building a strong social – emotional foundation in each child. The Frogs and Cubs classrooms are fully inclusive and run in partnership with the Colfax School District for children with special needs and IEP’s. CCCC Teachers work along side Colfax School District Special Education staff to provide services for all children in the classroom. Our Lead Teacher/Family Advocate will meet with parents 4 times throughout the year in Home Visits and Parent-Teacher Conferences to create a partnership which supports their child’s development.

Cougars

The Cougars classroom is the after school program for school aged kids, it operates from 3:15pm – 5:30pm. The goal of our before and after school program is to provide a safe learning environment that is relaxing and productive. We encourage this time for children to unwind, play with peers, and work on any homework they may have. Weekly lesson planning with a focus on STEM creates a fun and stimulating environment for the kids to engage in, experiment with, and learn from.

During the summer we provide all day child care, where we take the children on educational field trips around the Palouse and invited classroom guests (including parents) to enrich our curriculum studies. We also take them swimming at the public pool throughout the summer.
